Ninety-Nine Names of God

The Koran says that God has ninety-nine names, each being also a virtue. But in this technocratic age it is no longer God looking at us, but satellites that circle the Earth and computers that store the information. Each of the art works in this exhibition is named after a surveillance operation conducted by the five-eyes countries comprising of the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. For example Optic Nerve was conducted by Britain's spy agency Government Communications Head Quarters (GCHQ) where they monitored Yahoo video chat calls and captured photographs

every 5 minutes. Tempora is another operation by the GCHQ which secretly gained access to the network of cables which carry the world's phone calls and internet traffic and has started to process vast streams of sensitive personal information which it is sharing with its American partner, the National Security Agency (NSA).
